Her previous roles include Project Assistant and Administrative Assistant at the Nigerian Red Cross Society, where she contributed to major humanitarian initiatives such as the Flood Needs Assessment and Hunger Crisis Projects in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Obeten holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar and has completed multiple professional certifications in Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Human Resources Management through institutions like USAID, the University of Washington, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society.
